 No Outlook

You don't need to open Outlook to send e-mail a file. Just right-click on your file, scroll to Send To, and click on Mail Recipient. Enter the addressee in the To Bar and then click Send to launch your e-mail.


Once is Enough

To open folders with a single click, open a folder, click tools, and select folder Options. Under "Click items as follows," select "single click to open an item." Click Apply, then Ok.


Clear Clutter

To clean unused files off your hard drive, select My Computer on your desktop. Right-click on your hard drive, then click on properties. Click on Disk Cleanup, then wait while it searches the drive for files to clean. Select which files types you want to delete and click Ok.


Compress to Impress

Have some huge files on your drive? If you want to save space, you can compress a file. Right-click on it, select Properties, then the General tab. Click on the Advanced button, check off "Compress contents to save disk space," and click Ok.


Playing Favorites

In Windows XP Home, right-click the link to your favorite program on the Start menu and select Pin to Start Menu. Your program will be moved permanently to the top of the list, just below your browser and e-mail programs.


Shut'En Down

To close several programs windows at once, hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard, then click and highlight each application on the Toolbar. Release the Ctrl key after everything you want to shutdown is highlighted, then right-click on one of the highlighted applications and select Close Group.
