This information can be utilized when setting up a new email account.

  1. There are several different versions of Outlook and Outlook Express.  These instructions were developed from Office 2003.  Cherry Capital Connection, LLC office assistance is always available from 7 AM to 6 PM.
  2. These instructions are not a complete list of all available options from Outlook or Outlook Express.  Note that I have only described the names and options of some of the tabs.
  3. Additionally these instructions are meant to be a guide to just a basic set up, that will hopefully assist in utilizing these email programs with Cherry Capital Connection, LLC provided email.

 

Outlook Express Instructions:

Please Select Tools

Scroll Down and Select Accounts

Across the Top should be several tabs, Please Select the Mail Tab

Highlight your email account by clicking on it once.  *Now the buttons on the Left Side of the Screen should be active.

Please Click Properties

 

Across the Top should be several tabs, Please Select the General Tab

Mail Account___

*Type in the name you want associated with this account.  I tend to name accounts according to who will be using it.

 

User Information___

Name:

Organization:

Email Address:

Reply Address:

*This information will appear to whoever receives an email from you.  When I send out an email, the Name appears as Trina Maylone and my email address is listed trina@cherrycapitalconnection.com.  We want to Confirm your email address is entered correctly.

 

Across the Top should be several tabs, Please Select the Server Tab

Server Information___

We want to Confirm you incoming mail server is a POP3.

Incoming: mail._your_email_domain_name_here

Outgoing: mail._your_email_domain_name_here

*Example: mail.elkrapidsnet.com for email addresses ending in @elkrapidsnet.com

Incoming Mail Server___

Again should have your correct email address

And password

*It is your choice if you wish Outlook Express to remember your password.

Outgoing Mail Server___

“My server requires authentication” should be selected, and should use the “same settings as my incoming mail server.”

 

Across the Top should be several tabs, Please Select the Advanced Tab

Server Port Numbers___

Outgoing (SMTP): 587

Incoming (POP3): 110

Server Timeouts___

            Can leave as the Outlook Express standard or change.

Sending___

            Can leave as the Outlook Express standard or change.

Delivery___

Leave a copy of the message on the server

Remove from server after ______days.

Remove from server when deleted from ‘Deleted Items.’

*This is another option which can be beneficial if you wish to download the same email to multiple computers.

 

Outlook Instructions:

Please Select Tools

Scroll Down and Select Email Accounts

Select “View or change existing email accounts” than Next

Highlight your email account by clicking on it once.

Please Click Change
